2. Zen hideaway: Take a Leap of Faith
Zen Hideaway, is an inn that is now also popular with swings on the cliff edge and directly facing the sea. It made me fell in love at first time. It is really amazing taking a leap of faith over the deep gorge with a view of the Ayung River and forests below you. It will your friends in Instagram will happy for the photo. At more than $250 a night it’s expensive. Worth it if you can afford the price tag. The Inn is made of teak wood and arranged in Japanese wabi-sabi style and with a completely open design. With a completely open design. We slept in a house v, in the middle of the jungle with no windows or doors and full of all kinds of bugs and insects, reptiles and other animals that come in all kinds of unimaginable shapes and sizes.
3. See the Tegenungan waterfall
Tegenungan Waterfall become one of the most popular waterfalls in Bali. Tegenungen Waterfall is about a 30 minute drive from Ubud and around an hour drive from Seminyak or Canggu. 4. Taste Coffee at a Local Plantation
It was like going into the forest when entering the plantation and we were shown coffee plants as well as the crops of other herbs and spices such as cinnamon and lemon grass.
Bali is well know for the producer of Luwak coffee; one of the world’s most expensive coffees. You’ve probably heard of this before; civets (small creatures that are distantly related to cats) will eat only the very best coffee beans off the bushes.
You will try a selection of coffees and teas to try for free, which it is very delicious, some had added sugar while other were served straight. Each flavour contain a different property and many had healing benefits; for example ginger tea aids digestion, ginseng strengthens the memory and lemongrass helps with detoxification. Actually the lemongrass is kind a super tea as it also helps lower the blood pressure, prevents cancer and reduces acne. Dont forget to pay to try the Luwak Coffee.
5. Campuhan Ridge Walk
Campuhan Ridge Walk is pretty rice paddies and terraces running along either side of the ridge, this 30-minute uphill stroll is well worth a place on your Ubud itinerary.
We suggets you go at sunrise or sunset due to the fact that it’s uphill and if you go in the midday heat you will just be a sweaty mess. In fact you will probably be a sweaty mess anyway, but if you follow my advice you’ll get better pictures as the light is much nicer at sunrise and sunset. You can start between 5-5:30pm for optimum striding conditions.
6. Mount Batur
Mount Batur, is an active volcano which is located in the Kintamani Village, about an hour’s drive from Ubud. From Kintamani there is an incredible panoramic view of Mount Batur and Batur Lake.
Tt is 1,717 metres high and rises from inside a caldera or cauldron. Since 1804, t\he volcano has erupted twenty-six times , the last time being the year 2000. The biggest eruption in 1926 caused the surrounding village to be covered in lava.
7. Spa Treatments
Ubud is known for their variety of world famous spa treatments, from facials to massages to reflexology. I’d recommend the bathing rituals at Fivelements Ubud.
8. Visit Desa Visesa
One of the destinations with a natural rural atmosphere, Visesa Village in Ubud, Bali. The location is not far from the center of Ubud or only about 10 minutes by vehicle.
